A big interior decoration post

One of my favorite past times is moving around my furniture, filling up little corners and shelves in my apartment and putting together moodboards or just taping cut outs straight to my wall with black sticky tape. It's not that I know a lot about interior decorating, when it comes to designers, fabrics and such, I just go by what I instantly love and whatever excites me instantly when I see a picture. Common qualities often being a lot of light or serenity (I hate clutter and distraction that breaks up the 'rhythm' of a room. Does that make sense? Ideally, each object would serve a) functional purposes or b) inspirational purposes), white walls, a few pops of color, minimalistic and industrial styles with a few romantic or retro accents. And as I noticed while browsing through previous interior posts, impressively (or impossibly?) well organized kitchen wear.

Playing dress up with Esprit

With the holidays right around the corner, there’s a great excuse to indulge in sequins, feathers and leather (then again, I pretty much wear them year round. The fact that it’s finally Friday, that I found the perfect chocolate chip cookie or discovered a new favorite song should be reason enough to celebrate life by dressing up).

Anyway, as you saw last week, I was hanging out with my fellow bloggers Cindy and Chantal at the Esprit cafe and tried on some things at their huge store next door. They invited us to play around with a bunch of new items as a personal interpretation of their Wrap yourself in luxury campaign. To me that means something cozy, like a sweatshirt or big, soft plaid, paired with something glamorous and luxurious like this sequin skirt - that holds ground between silver and gold - and the baroque black jeans. It’s all about the balance between statement pieces and super casual. Speaking of which, I’ve picked up a crazy pair of sequin trousers for New Years. Magical weekends that lasted forever

Todays kind of enormous photo diary captures all the magical and random moments that you might otherwise forget in a cold, wet but fantastic weekend. Sometimes weekends fly by (I think we can all agree on the fact that Mondays last twice as long as Saturdays. Don't Monday's have like 49 hours?), other times they seem to last a lifetime. Besides caramel spiked coffee with blogger friends it involved quickly dressing up to go out with friends and family (this bulky faux fur is my go to fella), a few hours of working on my apartment (if adding picture frames and moving stuff around from one corner to another counts as decorating), falling in love with my city of Amsterdam all over again and many of my favorite winter clothes layered in similar outfits.
